James Woods: My ‘liberal’ agent dropped me on July 4

Actor James Woods, a Hollywood conservative and vocal supporter of President Trump, said his “liberal” agent dropped him on July 4.

In a tweet early Thursday morning, Woods shared an email he got hours earlier from his former talent agent, Ken Kaplan.

“It’s the 4th of July and I’m feeling patriotic. I don’t want to represent you anymore. I mean I can go on a rant but you know what I’d say,” Kaplan said in the email, which was headlined “Well….”

Woods, 71, then shared his response, stressing he thinks feeling patriotic is about appreciating free speech and thought.

“’Dear Ken, I don’t actually,'” Woods says was his response. “‘I was thinking if you’re feeling patriotic, you would appreciate free speech and one’s right to think as an individual. Be that as it may, I want to thank you for all your hard work and devotion on my behalf. Be well.'”

Last year the Oscar-nominated actor said he was retiring from acting after he claimed he was blacklisted in Hollywood for his conservative politics.

It is unclear whether Kaplan dropped Woods due to his politics.
