First lady Melania Trump says there are staffers in West Wing whom she doesnât trust.
Trump was asked during an interview with ABC News that aired Thursday whether her husband has people working for him whom she distrusts.
âYes,â she responded. âWell, some people, they donât work there anymore. Itâs very difficult sometimes, because Iâm so busy with my office, I donât get involved with the West Wing.â
Trump also said âyesâ when asked if there are still people working in the White House she canât trust.
âItâs harder to govern,â she said. âYou always need to watch your back.â
Trump said she has told the president about her concerns.
President Trump blamed being new to Washington for some of his staffing decisions when he was asked about his wifeâs comments in an interview with âFox and Friendsâ Thursday.
âAre there some Iâm not in love with? Yes. Weâll weed them out slowly but surely,â he said.
The first lady also told ABC News she wishes she had more control over her husband.
âOh, I wish,â she said. âI give him my honest advice and honest opinions, and then he does what he wants to do.â
