House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) said Sunday that he is interested to know if special counsel Robert Hur conducted any interviews with President Joe Biden’s brother and son, especially since the House has been conducting its own investigation into the Biden family’s foreign business dealings.
Comer’s statement comes after Hur released a report last week regarding the president’s handling of classified documents, with the report questioning Biden’s mental competency. The Kentucky lawmaker explained he was not surprised the report suggested Biden was not mentally well. He added that he wanted to know if any of the classified documents related to Ukraine or China, two countries in which the Biden family has been accused of being financially involved.
“And as you know, Maria, and as special counsel Hur should know, we’ve been leading a major influence-peddling investigation of the president where we’ve proven that, at the very least, his son and brother had been influence peddling with those two countries,” Comer said on Fox News’s Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo. “We want to know exactly what those documents were, and we want to know if Hur actually interviewed Jim Biden and Hunter Biden because, look, this family, as you know very well, has been involved in influence peddling for decades.”
Comer also discussed the testimony the House will conduct with businessman Tony Bobulinski, whom Comer described as the “one honest guy” involved in the Biden family’s business dealings. The lawmaker added that Bobulinski was “privileged to a lot of information” that relates to what the Biden family was doing in China, which he said was important for residents of the United States to know.

The House’s investigation into the Bidens has been ongoing, with members of the House Oversight Committee hoping to get more answers this month. James Biden, the president’s brother, will appear for a closed-door interview with House lawmakers on Feb. 21, while Hunter Biden, the president’s son, is scheduled for a closed-door deposition on Feb. 28.
Details of the Hur report have not been favorable for Biden. While the report concluded that Biden should not face prosecution for his handling of classified documents, it said the president was unable to recall important dates that occurred in his lifetime. Among these important dates were when he became vice president and when his son Beau died.
