The Democratic Party is imploding. Every poll suggests the 2022 midterm elections will repudiate the party and what they have done to our nation. The majority of Democrats, who are patriots, are not in charge. Their party is controlled by the small contingent of highly vocal, progressive-socialist, anti-American radicals who currently control both the legislative and executive branches and coerce the legacy media into censoring speech or writing that opposes or simply questions liberal pronouncements.
The Left’s ideological takeover has caused the public to lose faith in great institutions, large corporations, and the media, all of which have been infused with woke/socialist ideology.
The everyday effects of leftism are devastating. Energy independence under former President Donald Trump has turned into President Joe Biden begging hostile nations to ramp up oil production to compensate for our reduced production. Inflation is at a 40-year high. In California, gas is more than $6 a gallon. More than 200,000 small businesses were forced to close in 2021, causing millions to be unemployed. Illegal entrances across our southern border topped 2 million, bringing with them human trafficking and a flood of lethal drugs.
A leftist-controlled Justice Department ignores or exonerates progressive wrongdoings, viz., the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020, while engaging in selective prosecution of conservatives using fabricated evidence. Consider, for example, the illegal protests outside a number of Supreme Court justices’ homes. U.S. Code 18 § 1507 states that persons “picketing or parading … in or near the residence” of a sitting judge “with the intent of obstructing or impeding the administration of justice … shall be fined or imprisoned.” Where are the DOJ indictments for the liberal activists who picketed the homes of Justices Samuel Alito, Brett Kavanaugh, and John Roberts over the leaked abortion decision?
Progressive foreign policy has also been a failure. It led to war in Ukraine: Russian President Vladimir Putin saw Biden’s weakness and took advantage of it. In the Middle East, Saudi Arabia has refused to accept a telephone call from Biden, who is busy resurrecting the disastrous Iran nuclear deal and excusing vitriolic anti-Israel rhetoric against our strongest ally in the Middle East.
The Left has used our institutions to wreak havoc in the name of progress. Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg influenced the 2020 election in favor of the Democrats. Disney stopped saying, “Welcome boys and girls,” to comply with gender-nonspecific woke pronouns. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported false data to justify Biden’s draconian COVID-19 mandates. The National Institutes of Health suppressed the Great Barrington Declaration, in which more than 1 million scientific experts urged the government not to send the country into lockdown. The unscientific COVID-19 mandates of Dr. Anthony Fauci, Dr. Deborah Birx, and President Joe Biden stopped the education of American children, prevented people from working, depressed our economy, and nullified freedoms guaranteed in the Bill of Rights.
Twitter suppresses free speech. Biden seeks to control all information flow with his Disinformation Governance Board, which he is reportedly giving up on after well-earned criticism. The New York Times and the Washington Post were awarded a Pulitzer Prize for extensively reporting a fake story: the Russia collusion hoax. Leftist officials mandated and coerced experimental gene therapy (mRNA vaccination) for most U.S. residents, contravening the Nuremberg Code.
Woke philosophy has been injected into our schools against the expressed wishes of the parents. Anti-white racism, also known as critical race theory, and sexually-charged subjects are being taught to children as young as 4 years old in some states. In Wisconsin, three eighth-grade students were recently informed that they are under investigation for sexual harassment because they called a girl “she” instead of the woke-required “them.” Biden’s hand-picked progressive solicitor general, Elizabeth Prelogar, has endorsed Harvard University’s discrimination against Asian-American applicants.
This woke insanity has become so unhinged that progressive activist Aimee Arrambide, during her testimony before Congress this week, declared that men could get pregnant, give birth, and even have an abortion.
Every single one of the above events and actions is wildly unpopular — and for good reason. Progressive Democrats have damaged the lives of 330 million people, abrogated constitutionally guaranteed freedoms, reduced the credibility of the United States abroad, and promoted global unrest.
They have not only gravely harmed the public and distorted our children’s future — they have destroyed the Democratic Party.
But why? Why do leftists say things and act in ways that hurt their own political party? Potential explanations include consummate knowledge, an unrealistic worldview, or possibly both.
Leftist government officials repeatedly tried to justify the unnecessary and devastating COVID-19 mandates (lockdowns, masking, school closures, and social isolation) by claiming they were just “following the data” — or in Fauci’s case, by declaring that he represents science itself. Yet as Barton Swaim explained, “You can’t follow data. Data just sits there and waits to be interpreted [sic].” Progressives conflate the two: They believe their interpretations are data.
The current Democratic administration enforces group-think, group-speak, and one government-approved “truth.” They justify censorship knowing they can say what the truth is and label any contrary or disputatious statements or reports as “dangerous misinformation.” The mindset leads inexorably to Biden’s Disinformation Governance Board: his very own “Ministry of Truth.”
The problem, however, is that leftists aren’t living in the real world. They inhabit an alternate reality.
In their fantasy world, the nonelite, “deplorable” people, most of whom live in flyover country, are ignorant, immature children who cannot be trusted to make good choices. Therefore, the wise, self-styled elite progressives must decide for them. When Americans are too stupid to accept COVID-19 vaccinations (experimental mRNA gene therapy), leftist government officials force them to do the right thing: Get vaccinated.
In the progressives’ alternate reality, the end justifies the means. That is why they can say whatever they believe will achieve income redistribution, social justice (which they cannot define), and equity. If a lie advances these goals, one may speak falsely. And since the end justifies the means, it is acceptable to defame and attack those who oppose their vision of the correct, moral future.
The irony is that in their attempts to destroy America, leftists are actually restoring the American dream. They didn’t intend to, they certainly don’t want to, but that is what they are doing.
By implementing their unsustainable worldview, leftists are forcing the public to experience directly the stark world of woke. And in response, people are shouting the iconic phrase from the 1976 film Network: “We’re mad as hell and we’re not going to take it anymore!” In school board meetings, by abandoning Twitter, Disney, CNN, and the New York Times, when asserting their medical freedom in the face of losing their jobs, and at the ballot box in November, we the people are reaffirming the American dream of liberty, personal responsibility, and unlimited opportunity by repudiating leftist authoritarian collectivism.
