The White House said first lady Jill Biden underwent a common medical procedure “well” on Wednesday and is expected to resume her normal schedule.
Officials offered no further details on her condition or the early morning treatment.
President Joe Biden made the short drive with his 69-year-old wife to an outpatient center close to the campus of George Washington University, arriving just before 7 a.m.
They spent a little under two hours at the location, according to the press pool traveling with them.

The first lady’s Communications Director Elizabeth Alexander said: "The first lady tolerated the procedure well and is heading back to the White House to resume her normal schedule.”
She has no public events scheduled for Wednesday but is due to travel to Illinois on Monday to visit a community college.

Meanwhile, the president will address the nation on Wednesday afternoon about his plan to withdraw troops from Afghanistan before visiting Arlington National Cemetery.
