Biden jokes about running over journalist in a new F-150 when asked question about Israel

President Joe Biden jokingly told a reporter he would run her over with his car after being asked a question about the Israel-Palestine conflict.

“Can I ask you a quick question on Israel before you drive away since it’s so important?” a reporter asked the president as he paused for a moment while test-driving Ford’s new electric F-150 on Tuesday.

“No, you can’t, not unless you get in front of the car as I step on it … I’m only teasing,” he said.

Biden’s comment immediately drew criticism from conservatives on social media, who suggested former President Donald Trump would not be received as warmly by reporters if he made a similar joke.

“Joe Biden just threatened to run a reporter over with a car for wanting to ask a question about Israel,” former Nevada GOP Chairwoman Amy Tarkanian tweeted. “If President Trump had done this, he would have been impeached. Jokingly or not, this rhetoric is completely unbecoming of the President.”

“Jake Tapper would be removing his glasses in a timely fashion and monologuing to the camera about creeping autocracy against a free press,” the Spectator’s Stephen L. Miller tweeted.

“Reaction from the gaggle at 1:29 is nausea-inducing,” documentary filmmaker Leighton Akira Woodhouse said, referring to the laughs and cheers Biden received from members of the media as he sped away.

Biden was in Dearborn, Michigan, at the Ford Rouge Electric Vehicle Center’s test site, where he drove a truck with black and white detailing around the track and was accompanied by Secret Service.

“This sucker’s quick,” he told reporters.
