Florida teenager arrested, accused of stabbing 13-year-old 114 times

A 14-year-old Florida teenager was charged with fatally stabbing a classmate 114 times.

Aiden Fucci, 14, was charged with first-degree murder Thursday after allegedly stabbing Tristyn Bailey, 13. R.J. Larizza, the state attorney for Florida’s 7th Circuit, announced the charges, described the attack as premeditated, and said Fucci will be charged as an adult.

“At least 49 of those stab wounds were to the hands, arms, and the head. They were defensive in nature,” Larizza said, according to the St. Augustine Record.

“The bottom line is that premeditation could be inferred certainly from just the sheer number of stab wounds that Tristyn Bailey had to suffer,” he added. “Every time that arm went back, and every time that arm went down, that was premeditation.”

In the weeks before the stabbing, Fucci allegedly told others that he “intended to kill someone by taking them in the woods and stabbing them,” Larizza said.

The alleged killer was not suffering from mental health issues and was not receiving counseling, Larizza added.

Bailey’s body was discovered May 9 in the wooded area near her home near Jacksonville, Florida.

The presumed weapon, a buck knife, was removed from a nearby pond, and clothing with traces of blood found on them were discovered in Fucci’s home.
