The presidential race between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump is now too close to call in the battleground state of Virginia.

Clinton leads Trump by 3 points in Virginia, within the margin of error, in a new University of Mary Washington’s Center for Leadership and Media Studies poll released Thursday.

Clinton is ahead 40-37 among likely voters. When the poll includes all registered voters, Clinton’s lead grows to 5 points.

Voters in Virginia remain displeased with both Clinton and Trump, as both have unfavorable ratings of 60 percent.

The poll of 685 likely Virginia voters was conducted Sept. 6-12 and carries a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points. Among the 852 registered voters, the margin of error is plus or minus 3.9 percentage points.

A poll released earlier this week from the left-leaning Public Policy Polling gave Clinton a 6-point lead over Trump among likely voters, 45 percent to 39 percent.

By comparison, in a RealClearPolitics average of polls, Clinton leads Trump by 3.5 points.
