Man arrested in assault of Metrobus driver

A Temple Hills man was arrested in connection with the assault of a Metrobus driver Monday night, officials said.

Clarence Pritchett, 37, was charged with simple assault, according to Metro officials.

Metro Transit Police responded about 7:30 p.m. Monday to the incident on an S4 bus at 15th and I streets NW. Witnesses told authorities that a man grabbed the driver by the collar and pulled the driver out of the seat, Metro spokeswoman Cathy Asato said.

Pritchett was arrested, the driver declined medical attention and the bus was taken out of service, officials said.
