Diplomats attacked by man with knife
U.S. Secret Service police arrested a man who allegedly injured three people with a 12-inch knife at a West African embassy in Northwest Washington. Police said Kokou Dzifa Bocco used a serrated knife last week at the Embassy of Togo after he was told he could not immediately receive a passport. Three people had to be taken to the hospital, including Charge d’Affaires Lorempo Tchabre Landjergue, who suffered cuts on both hands.

Police trying to ID dead pedestrian
D.C. police are seeking help in identifying a pedestrian who was fatally struck in Cleveland Park on Saturday night. A man was trying to cross at 34th Street and Cleveland Avenue NW at about 7:15 p.m. when he was struck by a car. The victim had no identification on him and died Monday. He was described as a white male in his 70s with white hair and scars on his chest and legs from a previous surgery. He wore blue pants and brown New Balance sneakers. Anyone with information can call police at 202-727-9099.
Little info released in Metro death
The man who died Monday night in an apparent suicide at the McPherson Square Metro station was a 57-year-old who lived in Arlington County, according to Metro. The transit agency declined to release the man’s name “to respect the privacy of the person’s family,” spokeswoman Angela Gates said. Witnesses told investigators that the man intentionally put himself in the path of the train, according to the agency.
Fairfax police inspect violent robberies
Fairfax police are investigating three armed robberies in the Springfield area, including one in which a victim was shot in the head. The robberies happened about 7 p.m. Monday within a mile of each other. Four masked men attempted to rob four other men on the 5900 block of Amelia Street. In that incident, one victim was shot in the head. He was expected to survive. Minutes later, three other victims were robbed in two separate robberies on the 7000 block of Rhoden Court.
