Safety LaRon Landry practiced and is listed as probable on the injury report for Sunday’s game at Miami. But even though free safety Oshiomogho Atogwe took some work for the first time in two weeks, he’s still listed as questionable.
“I’m ready to go,” Landry said.
He said his Achilles flared up more than usual this week so, as a precautionary measure, he didn’t practice Wednesday and was limited Thursday. But he was full-go Friday.
“After games it swells up and you ice it and maintain it and it’ll go back down,” he said. “It didn’t ease up as fast as I thought it would. That’s why I wanted to take it slow, so I didn’t end up in the situation I was in last year.”
Landry said before the season that if his Achilles did not respond to the treatment plan this offseason, then he could face surgery. That’s why he wants to take care of it when it flares up. He’s also in the last year of his contract.
As for Atogwe, he said he tried to play in Buffalo but his knee was not yet strong enough. In the second half of that game, it bothered him. So he’s spent the past two weeks strengthening the knee.
“It feels a lot better than it did in Buffalo,” he said.
He’ll still be a game-time decision and, at this point, it would probably be a little bit of a surprise if he played.
Right tackle Jammal Brown (groin) was limited in practice and is listed as questionable. It would still be surprising if he plays, but coach Mike Shanahan said they’ll test him out before the game.
Running back Tashard Choice (hamstring) is questionable and was limited in practice.
Linebacker Keyaron Fox (infection) is out. Lorenzo Alexander has taken more reps at inside linebacker this week in case he’s needed.
For the Dolphins, cornerback Nolan Carroll (hamstring) is questionable.
