In Iowa, Mitt Romney again commented on ethanol during a roundtable discussion with leaders.

“I believe ethanol is an important part of our fuel solution, our energy solution. I supported the subsidy of ethanol to help get the industry on its feet,” he told farmers in Iowa, according to the Des Moines Register. “I would like to see the ethanol industry continue to be successful, to grow, and to provide a growing share of America’s domestic energy sources.”

The Register notes that Romney ducked questions about supporting federal ethanol subsidies after they expire in December, or whether he would promote gasoline blended with a higher percentage of ethanol.
