A sheriff in Florida found himself planning the arrest of his daughter after it was revealed she was a methamphetamine supplier.

Franklin County Sheriff A.J. Smith was shocked to hear the name of his 38-year-old daughter, Kristen Kent, when a methamphetamine dealer identified her as a supplier, according to a report.

“I said, ‘My daughter?’ And she said, ‘Yes, sir,'” Smith said.

Smith was stunned but also recognized he had to set up a sting operation to arrest his daughter, a mother of three, the report noted.

Kent was arrested on April 18 and faces multiple charges, including drug trafficking and possession of cocaine, according to arrest records.

“I felt terrible about it, but I also knew that the quantity of drugs she was selling was unbelievable and that she had to be stopped,” Smith said.

“Did it feel good? No, it didn’t feel good, but it had to be done.”

Smith also discussed the arrest on his department’s Facebook page.

“Methamphetamine does not discriminate & neither do we. It does not matter who you are- No one is immune or exempt,” the post read.

“Kent is charged with amphetamine traffic [of] methamphetamine 14 grams or over; drug equipment possession and or use; cocaine possession.”
