Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) reiterated his claim of Vice President Kamala Harris being a diversity hire, arguing that her position in the role is contributing to the United States being destroyed.

Roy stated Monday that the Democratic Party will need to choose between either President Joe Biden or “DEI” Harris as the 2024 presidential nominee, a reference to diversity, equity, and inclusion, prompting Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) to criticize him as “ignorant as all get-out.” The Texas representative contended that Biden was “very specific” in wanting either a woman or a person of color as his vice president and “laid out that this was a DEI process.”
