On the RNC stage, they criticized President Joe Biden’s inability to protect U.S. troops and interests. The tear-ridden speech was a powerful and moving reminder of the broader disaster of Biden’s foreign policy.
The Abbey Gate bombing occurred on Aug. 26, 2021, days before the final pullout of U.S. troops from Afghanistan. As the country collapsed around them, 13 U.S. service members and 170 Afghan civilians were killed by an IED. The perpetrator was a lone ISIS suicide bomber who was released from a Taliban prison as they overran Kabul.
