A new installment of the National Treasure series, starring actor Nicolas Cage, is under development.
A Friday report revealed that Disney had hired writer Chris Bremner to draft the script for National Treasure 3. Disney is also partnering with Jerry Bruckheimer, a producer of films such as Top Gun, Armageddon, and Black Hawk Down, to create the film.

The original 2004 National Treasure grossed approximately $347 million, and its sequel grossed $457 million worldwide. Although the script has been announced, no other details have been released.
The New York Post reached out to Cage’s agent to confirm his presence in the film but did not receive a response.
