Americans United for Life Action is sponsoring a ‘Virtual March for Life’ for those who can’t make it to Washington D.C. to protest abortion on the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade.
Once you register, you can select a little avatar which is placed on a map of the National Mall. From the protest you watch live video of this year’s March for Life.
The site has only been up for a week, but it has spread quickly thanks to participants who are posting it on Facebook.
Facebook is fertile ground for grassroots activism and many groups have used it successfully. This is the first time, however, that I’ve seen a ‘virtual protest’ in action.
My guess is that ‘virtual tea parties’ are not far off.
