EL PASO, Texas (AP) — El Paso police are trying to identify a burned and dismembered body discovered in the basement of a vacant downtown building.
Utility workers on Friday found the remains while removing an electric meter.
El Paso police spokesman Darrel Petry says the circumstances surrounding the death appear suspicious. Authorities did not immediately say the gender or possible age of the victim.
Police have asked the public for help in identifying the individual.
