The Israel Defense Forces and the country’s internal security service, the Shin Bet, announced that Mohammad Abu Itiwi was killed during an Israeli military operation on Wednesday.

Itiwi was commander of the Nukhba force, an elite unit of Hamas that was fighting in Gaza, multiple reports confirmed. He had also allegedly participated in the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attack on Israel, and his actions are believed to have contributed to the deaths of at least 370 victims during the attack.
