Michael Avenatti tries the Jacob Wohl defense

The Los Angeles Police Department arrested Michael Avenatti yesterday on charges of felony domestic violence. Despite TMZ citing multiple corroborating sources that Avenatti beat up a woman in a Century City apartment and LAPD authorizing an emergency protective order against him, Avenatti maintains not only that is he innocent, but also that he was framed by none other than Jacob Wohl.

Yes, Avenatti’s defense is that a 20-year-old Twitter troll and former fraud financier, who’s potentially under FBI investigation for orchestrating the dumbest and most incompetent smear campaign in modern history against special counsel Robert Mueller, successfully framed Avenatti to the point of his arrest.

Does Michael need a hand? Because that is some reach.

“First Mueller and now me,” Avenatti tweeted earlier this morning. “When we are fully exonerated I am coming for you Jacob Wohl aka Surefire.”

Wohl responded that he reported Avenatti to law enforcement. Truth, or troll? You decide.

It’s a match made in hell, but this story is so quintessentially 2018 that you can’t look away. To think that someone as incompetent and idiotic as Wohl could successfully get one of the most inept and lax police departments in the country to arrest a high-profile, left-wing celebrity for violence against a woman and more impressively, hoax one of the nation’s most competent intelligence agencies posing as a tabloid, TMZ, is beyond farce. It’s parody.

And we’ll keep being subjected to this so long as we platform charlatans like Wohl and Avenatti in the media and the mainstream.
