Claudia Tenney fights back on illegal immigrants getting driver’s licenses with new legislation

Published January 9, 2025 3:14pm ET

Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) introduced a bill that would prevent illegal immigrants from obtaining a driver’s license in the United States.

The Red Light Act was introduced earlier this week to combat Tenney’s home state’s Green Light Law that was established in 2019. In New York, anyone over the age of 16, no matter their status, can receive a license, resulting in over 50,000 illegal immigrants receiving a New York state driver’s license.
