Justin Trudeau contended that social media and the debates people have on it raise a “challenge” to the Democratic Party‘s future endeavors in the United States.

The Canadian prime minister, who just announced his resignation, was asked about the arguments some have made over the Democratic Party being “out of touch” following the 2024 elections, in which the party lost control of both the White House and the Senate and failed to flip the House. Trudeau argued that “progressives” need to remain focused on the economy and the cost of living, saying Canada‘s economy is set to grow faster than the U.S. partially due to removing roadblocks for women and minorities entering the workforce.
