It didn’t take Fred Thompson long to get back to business in Washington. Not even 24 hours after dropping out of the presidential race, the actor and former senator was spotted at the Palm in Tyson’s Corner on Wednesday afternoon, along with his wife, Jeri.
Perhaps they were eating some humble pie. But even that beats the rubber-chicken circuit of the campaign trail.

Also spotted: “The Shield” actor Michael Chiklis was in town doing research for his role in “Eagle Eye,” a terrorism thriller.
And watch out for Roger Clemens around town starting Friday. The seven-time Cy Young winner is set to be deposed by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform on Saturday, and sources say the Rocket is flying into town from Houston on Friday.
