Jorida Davidson, the Albanian woman accused of a deadly hit-and-run in Dupont Circle, has been convicted by a D.C. jury of negligent homicide.

Davidson, 31, turned herself in to authorities a day after her black Lexus sport-utility vehicle struck and killed 24-year-old Kiela Marie Ryan of Columbia in October.

Davidson, who was also convicted of leaving the scene of a collision involving injury and driving while under the influence of alcohol, faces up to nearly six years in prison.

Prosecutors said Ryan was getting out of a legally parked car on Connecticut Avenue NW just south of Dupont Circle to celebate a birthday party when she was struck by an SUV driven by Davidson. The vehicle continued without stopping.

An eyewitness got on a bicycle and chased the vehicle, got a look at the driver then remembered the tag number. Davidson drove to her condominum in Chevy Chase, where police found her in the basement garage sitting in the vehicle.
