Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is expected to announce on the Senate floor that he will not run for another term in 2026.

McConnell, who served as GOP Senate leader until last month, has had several medical episodes in recent months. He has served in the Senate since 1985.
The Kentucky Republican’s announcement comes on his 83rd birthday.
