The national average price for a gallon of regular gas dropped on Friday, falling to $3.106, according to AAA. This marks the latest decrease at the pumps after consumers experienced several weeks of increases in February.
Additionally, the latest pricing means fuel costs are comparatively lower than last week, last month, and last year. A week ago, regular gas was $3.114 per gallon. A month ago, fuel cost $3.141 per gallon. A year ago, a gallon of regular gas cost $3.397. Friday’s price point for gas is the cheapest since the middle of January.
