The Trump campaign sent out talking points to surrogates, and its message is clear: Kamala Harris is an extremist.
In a PDF obtained by Politico on Wednesday, the Trump team explained to its supporters what messages should be pushed in reaction to Joe Biden picking Harris as his running mate. Those talking points will be used as a resource for the campaign’s proxies as they make appearances on television, radio, and elsewhere.
At the top of the document, the title reads, “Kamala Harris, Radical.”
Further down, the guidance refers to a number of subcategories including, “Open Borders,” “Pro-Abortion, Anti-Catholic,” and “Weak on Crime, Cop Killers, Terrorists.”
In one portion, the talking points mention that “Harris raised her hand in support of decriminalizing illegal border crossings.” The point under a subsection labeled “phony” reads, “Harris attacked Biden for praising and coddling racist segregationists.”

Biden announced that Harris, a senator and former attorney general of California, would be his vice presidential candidate on Tuesday evening. The two will be holding their first event together on Wednesday.
