On “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek can occasionally come off as a bit of a Mr. Know-It-All. But put him in a room full of 15-year-olds, and he gets downright humble.
“You and I will have our National Humiliation Day,” Trebek confessed to an audience gathered for Wednesday’s National Geographic Bee, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
With a crowd sprinkled with bee alumni, Trebek stated the obvious: People who participate in bees can frequently look silly when on stage.
His advice to participants? “If you have a 20-year-old videotape of yourself in your garage, keep it there.”
