Montgomery County police say the man who robbed a Damascus bank at gunpoint last week has been apprehended in Florida.
Police said 42-year-old Stephen A. Mulvihill, of the 8300 block of Gue Road in Damascus, is charged in last Thursday’s robbery of a SunTrust Bank.
The bank, located 9916 Main Street, was robbed shortly after 4 p.m. Police say Mulvihill gave a teller a note demanding money and displayed a handgun. He fled after obtaining cash.
Mulvihill was arrested in Margate, Fla., and is being extradited to Montgomery County. He is facing charges of armed robbery, use of a handgun in commission of a felony and first-degree assault.
