Brad Pitt speaks about verbal war between Angie, Jen

Brad Pitt isn’t mad at Jennifer Aniston for calling Angelina Jolie “uncool” in Vogue — instead, he blames the media, naturally.

“Listen, man, Jen is a sweetheart. I think she got dragged into that one, and then there’s a second round to all of that Angie vs. Jen,” the “Benjamin Button” star explains. “It’s so created.”

Brad says he and his ex-wife “still check in with each other. She was a big part of my life, and me hers. I don’t see how there cannot be [that]. That’s life, man. That’s life.” Deep, dude.

As for Angie’s allegedly “uncool” remarks about falling in love with Brad on the set of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” — which started shooting while he was still married — Brad points out, “What people don’t understand is that we filmed for a year. We were still filming after Jen and I split up. Even then it doesn’t mean that there was some kind of dastardly affair. There wasn’t.

“I’m very proud of the way that it was handled,” he declares. “It was respectful. [The film] will mean something to our kids. It will, that’s all.” Yeah, because there’s nothing kids enjoy more than seeing their parents go gaga over each other.

Travolta tragedy update

Even after an autopsy, the account of Jett Travolta’s final hours remains murky, as conflicting details surface.

Though a funeral-home staffer who worked with his remains said the 16-year-old’s body was in “great shape” with “no sign of head trauma” — apparently contradicting reports that he hit his head during a seizure — TMZ sources say that the teen did indeed strike the bathroom wall or the toilet as he fell. The paparazzi site was allegedly told that Jett was “bleeding in several areas” when found.

And, despite allegations that Jett’s body was not discovered for hours, people involved in the effort to revive him told TMZ he had a “faint pulse” when they arrived on the scene.

Devastated parents John Travolta and Kelly Preston, along with sister Ella, will reportedly be joined by family and friends for an intimate memorial service near their Ocala, Fla., home today.

Moss: Mom again?

Recent photos of Kate Moss sporting what appears to be a baby bump — and holding what appears to be a beer bottle and a cigarette — have raised eyebrows and questions. Now the U.K.’s Daily Mail claims the mom of daughter Lila is indeed ready for another child — in fact, she doubled her nanny’s Christmas bonus.

“Kate told her that the bonus had been doubled, as she hoped she’d have twice as much work for her this year,” a source tells the paper. “She told the nanny that she is the only person in the world she would want to be there if she had a new baby.”

As for the supermodel’s bad habits? “Kate has been smoking and having the odd drink on holiday, but will start her detox in earnest when she is on her own with [boyfriend] Jamie [Hince]. She wants to wait until she has cleaned out her system before attempting to get pregnant.”

“But her gift to Mary is her clearest indication yet that she’d like to add to her brood before this year is out,” the source adds.

Wait, so that was just a beer belly? On the onetime poster child for the waif look? Hmmm …

No more love

Jennifer Love Hewitt is rapidly surpassing her namemate Aniston in the unlucky-in-love department. After gushing about actor fiancé Ross McCall being the man of her dreams, the “Ghost Whisperer” star has split with him, People reports.

“They broke up over the holidays and have ended their engagement,” a source tight with the pair reportedly told the magazine. “They’re both really sad about this.”

We find ourselves surprisingly upset by this, too. After all, we believed if there was someone for Jennifer Love Hewitt, there was someone for everyone.
