Jon Stewart challenges John McCain to a ‘wrong-off’ after the senator’s weekend comments about The Daily Show

Sen. John McCain and The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart have engaged themselves in a televised media war. McCain recently appeared on Media Buzz where he was asked if he believes Stewart is fair to Republicans.

Stewart used this clip in his monologue Tuesday night and replied to the question with “does the Pope sh*t in the woods?”

On Media Buzz, McCain made it clear that while Stewart may be unfair and say “things that are absolutely wrong,” he isn’t upset over it because of the nature of late night comedy.

Stewart countered these comments with a proposition for the Senator.

“I’ll give you this McCain, I’ve been wrong, I’ve done some bad things…but I would be willing to bet, McCain, that if we went ‘wrong-o y wrong-o’ you’d come out on bottom,” Stewart said. “My 16 years on this show up against your 132 years of Senate service.”

He then challenged McCain to a “good, old-fashion, wrong-off.”

“I’ll tell you what, you come on the program loaded down with your ‘Jon Stewart was absolutely wrong’ file, and I’ll see if I can perhaps dig up one or two things you’ve been mistaken about,” Stewart said sarcastically, with the sound of a truck backing up as the real kicker.
