3 charged in Silver Spring stabbing attack

Three people are facing attempted murder charges after a stabbing attack in Silver Spring.

Montgomery County police said the assault happened about 5:30 p.m. Sunday on the 8600 block of Flower Avenue. A man reported that three people confronted him tried to stab him as he was walking to the Universal Mart. Another man saw the attack and intervened, and that man was stabbed three times.

The man who was stabbed told officers that the same three people had harassed and threatened him earlier that day.

Police said Thursday that three people have been arrested in the attack. Police said 20-year-old James Tomaski is facing charges of attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault and other related offenses. Chama Chisata, 20, is charged with conspiracy to commit second-degree murder, first-degree assault and other charges. A juvenile, whose name was not released, is also charged in the assault.
