A voter may have already cast the ballot that determines control of the U.S. Senate.
With 50 days until the midterm elections, voting has already begun in North Carolina, home to one of the most closely fought Senate races this year.
Some 379 people have cast early votes in the Tar Heel State, according to ElectProject.org. About 9,700 early voting ballots were sent out, the data shows.
Early voting is also starting soon in Minnesota, Maine, New Jersey, South Dakota and Vermont, although none of those states have competitive Senate races this year.
