A Fort Belvoir firefighter and paramedic charged with four counts related to producing child pornography has been taken into custody, authorities said Thursday.
Johnny Soza, 35, of Stafford, was charged Tuesday with one count of enticement of a minor, two counts of producing child pornography and one count of receipt of child pornography.
He was set to appear in federal court in Alexandria on Thursday afternoon, and his lawyer told The Washington Examiner Wednesday that he intends to plead not guilty to all charges.
Court documents allege that Soza met a 15-year-old Canadian girl online last year and enticed her to send him explicit photos of herself and “engage in sexually explicit conduct for him” on a webcam. Authorities say Soza made plans several times to travel to Canada to have sex with the girl and eventually bring her to the U.S. Authorities launched an investigation when the girl’s father found explicit photos of his daughter and conversations between the girl and Soza on her iPod.
Fort Belvoir representatives have said they couldn’t comment on the matter.
