Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) endorses Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) for governor of Florida, adding to the long list of endorsements the champion of President Donald Trump’s “America First” agenda has accrued.
“Byron Donalds is first and foremost my friend,” Roy stated. “He also is a fearless American First conservative who will protect Florida’s freedoms, grow its economy, and lead with strength.”
“As Governor, he’ll work alongside President Trump and all of us to fight for parents, defend liberty, and keep Florida a standard-bearer for conservative leadership,” Roy added. “I’m proud to stand with him.”
Roy’s support was welcomed by Donalds, who then took to social media to amplify the endorsement.
“Thank you to my friend @chiproytx for your support!” Donalds wrote. “It’s been an honor to fight alongside you to secure conservative wins in the halls of Congress.”
“As Governor, we will keep Florida a standard-bearer for conservative leadership in America & take our state to the NEXT LEVEL,” the congressman added.
The endorsement has retained the reaction of other influential members of Congress, who have been key to securing victories for Trump and Republicans statewide.

Roy adds to the long list of influential Republicans backing his gubernatorial bid, including Reps. Jimmy Patronis (R-FL) and Randy Fine (R-FL), Florida state Rep. Meg Weinberger (R-FL), and Florida Commissioner of the City of Sweetwater Ian Vallecillo.
