Romney denounces ‘outrageous’ Libya attack

Mitt Romney today condemned the slayings of our American diplomats in Libya, saying the attack on the U.S. embassy in Benghazi was “outrageous” and “disgusting.”

Mobs in Libya and Egypt stormed the U.S. embassies on Tuesday night, protesting a film ridiculing Islam’s Prophet Mohammed. U.S. ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed in the attack on the embassy in Libya.

Romney also sought to clarify a statement he issued about 10 p.m. last night in which he slammed the Obama administration for seeming to sympathize with the demonstrators. The White House distanced itself from the statement that came from the embassy in Cairo.

The GOP presidential nominee said that initial statement was similar to an apology.
