Rob Reiner, wife found dead inside Los Angeles home

Famed film director Rob Reiner and his wife were found dead inside their Los Angeles home on Sunday, in what is being investigated as an apparent homicide.

LAPD said officers were called to the home in the Brentwood neighborhood of the city at 3:40 p.m. Pacific time, where they found Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, dead.

According to ABC News, both Reiner and his wife were stabbed to death.

Reiner is known for his work on films like This is Spinal Tap, When Harry Met Sally, and The Princess Bride.

The Los Angeles Police Department held a news conference about the suspected murders of the famous Hollywood director and his wife, but revealed little information and said the investigation was ongoing, the Los Angeles Times reported.

LAPD Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton said the detectives were waiting for a search warrant before conducting a “thorough” investigation, according to the Los Angeles Times.

“At this time, the Los Angeles Police Department is not seeking anyone as a suspect or as a person of interest … and we will not be doing that until we conduct our investigation and move forward,” Hamilton said.

Some reports said that Reiner and his wife were stabbed by their son but Hamilton did not confirm. Hamilton told the Los Angeles Times that the LAPD would interview family members but at the present time “no one has been detained; no one is being questioned as a suspect.”
