Ad: Only Hillary has ‘the strength to stand up’ to GOP

If Iowans dislike their Republican governor’s policies, they’ll loathe the 2016 GOP presidential field.

That’s Hillary Clinton’s message in a new radio ad titled “Stand,” in which she pledges to oppose the conservative agenda of Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad and her would-be rivals in next year’s presidential race.

The ad claims Republicans want to cut taxes for the wealthy and privatize entitlements like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Branstad is accused of cutting mental health services in Iowa and vetoing funds for education.

Clinton offers to fight against the drug and insurance companies while defending Planned Parenthood. “She’s the one candidate with the strength to stand up to the Republicans,” the narrator said.

“Thousands of Iowans are standing up and saying enough, and I’m standing with you,” Clinton said.

Clinton leads Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, her closest rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, in most Iowa polls as the caucuses approach.
