Time for a Rubio-Kasich deal? Might be unstoppable [VIDEO]

Can Donald Trump be stopped?

Yes, but options and time are running out. For conservatives and Republicans afraid that Trump can neither win nor govern as a conservative if he were elected, it’s time to get creative to beat Trump.

As we’ve pointed out, a brokered convention is more of a possibility this year than ever before — but to get there, Trump must be prevented from sweeping of winner-take-all (and hybrid) states on March 15 (Ohio, Florida, Illinois, Missouri).

Trump is winning most states right now, but with a slim plurality; he usually has between 25 percent and 35 percent of the vote.

The question for conservatives: Which candidate can we get to beat him?

Realistically, the only candidates who can still pick up significant support are Senator Marco Rubio or Gov. John Kasich. With Gov. Jeb Bush dropping out, Bush’s support will go to them, but the problem is that Rubio and Kasich are splitting support of those who want an electable nominee.

In two latest poll pitting Republican candidates against Hillary Clinton, Rubio and Kasich significantly outperform Cruz and Trump. According to the Fox News poll, Rubio beats her by 4 percent and Kasich beats her by 3 percent; in the Quinnipiac poll, Kasich is winning by 8 and Rubio is winning by 7.

So, what if the two most electable candidates teamed up?

Not only would their combined percentages (especially if you add Bush’s leftover support) beat Trump in most states, but imagine also if Republican’s ticket-mates were both from important swing states.

A Rubio/Kasich ticket handily beat the Democrats, and most polls show we would have a shot at winning the youth vote — which would be monumental progress for our Party and the future. Considering Trump’s approval rating among millennials is 17 percent, this ticket would be a significant upgrade for a Party that needs younger appeal.

Will Kasich and Rubio do what’s best for the Republican Party? Or, will they wait until after March 15? If they wait much longer, Trump wins.
