AOC names two candidates she could endorse in 2020

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez named two senators who could get her endorsement in the 2020 Democratic primary: Sen. Bernie Sanders and Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

The New York Democrat said Thursday she would like to see a presidential candidate who has “a coherent world view and logic from which all these policy proposals are coming forward. I think Sen. Sanders has that. I also think Sen. Warren has that.”

On Thursday, Sanders, I-Vt., and Ocasio-Cortez unveiled legislation to put a national cap on interest rates for credit cards. Warren and the freshman congresswoman were spotted having lunch together in March.

Ocasio-Cortez, 29, said earlier this year she wanted to wait to endorse a candidate until closer to the 2020 election because if she endorsed early in the race, it would prevent the Democratic Party from having a conversation about where it stands on issues, such as income inequality and climate change.
