Donald Trump’s campaign announced Saturday that they raised $100 million during September ahead of the final month before election day.
According to a press release from the campaign, the campaign has $75 million in cash on hand. The $100 million total includes a $2 million contribution from the GOP nominee himself to cover reimbursements, as well as plane and rental costs.
“These numbers show that Donald Trump continues to have incredible broad-based support from across America. We want to thank our many volunteers and contributors that are clearly committed to electing Donald J. Trump as President in November,” said Steven Mnuchin, the Trump campaign’s finance chairman.
The campaign said that 2.4 million individuals have contributed to the campaign, with September representing a 24 percent increase in that total.
Despite the Trump campaign’s boasts about their September haul, the Clinton campaign raised over $150 million during the month, including $84 million for the campaign, as well as $70 million for the Democratic National Committee.
The total is also far behind what 2012 GOP nominee Mitt Romney raised in September four years ago, having raked in $170 million during that time.
