Pence trashes polls and press: ‘Don’t be fooled’

Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence on Tuesday disputed claims that Donald Trump’s campaign does not stand a chance in next month’s election.

Pence ran to the podium in Ohio from his plane on the tarmac and delivered an energetic stump speech.

“Don’t be fooled. This race is on,” Pence said, his voice rising. “We’re leading two national polls. We’re leading in Ohio and we’re going to fight all the way to the White House.”

The Indiana governor then criticized the press, directing his ire at “this guy at CNBC named [John] Harwood” and Politico, for what Pence perceived as attempts to take down Trump.

Pence is making three stops in the Buckeye State on Tuesday, which Trump will visit on Thursday.
