Meghan McCain accuses Joy Behar of ‘shilling’ for Bloomberg

Meghan McCain accused fellow The View host Joy Behar of stumping for 2020 presidential contender Michael Bloomberg.

“I’m not shilling for Mayor Bloomberg yet, but I do think there’s another side to this story,” Behar said Friday about Bloomberg’s past support for a controversial stop-and-frisk policing policy, which critics say disproportionately affected minorities.

“You kind of are,” McCain said in response to Behar. “I like him, fine, I do. I like Biden too. I like all of them,” Behar responded.

Earlier this week, co-host Sunny Hostin was cut off from discussing the stop-and-frisk controversy after leaked audio from a 2015 Bloomberg speech for the Aspen Institute showed the former mayor praising stop and frisk in graphic terms.

“The way you get the guns out of the kids’ hands is to throw them up against the wall and frisk them. And then they start. ’Oh, I don’t want to get caught,’ so they don’t bring the gun. They still have a gun, but they leave it at home,” Bloomberg said.

Bloomberg has gone on the show and apologized for promoting stop and frisk when he was mayor of New York City.
