Priebus: Dems choosing Clinton is ‘one of biggest political blunders’

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said he thinks the Democrat’s decision to stick with Hillary Clinton for president is a mistake of massive proportions.

“I mean they have decided to serve up probably the worst candidate that they could possibly serve at a time when, you know, they have an opportunity, we have an opportunity, an open seat for president,” Priebus told the “Mike Gallagher Show” on Friday. “I think it’s one of biggest political blunders perhaps in their party’s modern history. It’s unbelievable.”

Priebus insisted that he would have said the same thing to Gallagher off-air about Clinton, who Priebus said is “in a ditch and can’t get out.”

The GOP chairman sounded much more optimistic about Donald Trump, who clinched the party’s nomination by exceeding the delegate threshold to secure the nomination in July. Priebus, who was recently profiled as the man with “the hardest job in America,” said Trump’s victory at this summer’s convention is all but a formality.

Priebus argued that drama, excitement, and difficulty his party has experienced is “actually synonymous with winning.”
