Politico has just declared “mission accomplished.”
FishbowlDC’s Betsy Rothstein on Thursday uncovered the latest chapter of Politico’s harlequin novel to itself for “some ass-kicking coverage of congress.”
“We have been accused of hyperbole once or twice, but we can safely declare: we have officially pulled it off,” editors John Harris and Jim VandeHei told staffers in a memo.
It goes on to gloat about how its reporters “rock” at covering Congress.
“What’s even more exciting is that we are grooming the next generation of great reporters amid all of this,” the memo says.
Now that is some good hyperbole.
