Dr. Oz delivers a campaign speech — in front of Hitler’s car

Dr. Mehmet Oz suffered an unusual mishap during an appearance in southern California when he delivered a speech in front of Adolf Hitler’s car.

The incident happened Thursday during a fundraiser held at the Lyon Air Museum, which is home to a collection of World War II memorabilia. A group called Take Back the Senate, which is aligned with the National Republican Senatorial Committee, organized the event.

Oz spoke in front of a Mercedes-Benz G4, which was originally delivered to Hitler in late 1939 and used by the Fuhrer before being seized by the French Army at Berchtesgaden, Germany, according to the museum’s website.

Tickets for the fundraiser started at $1,500 a head, rising to $50,000 for a package of six, according to the New York Post.

While Oz has not released a public statement about the mishap, his opponent, John Fetterman, wasted little time weighing in on Twitter.

“I don’t know who needs to hear this,” he wrote, “but if you’re asking donors for money in front of Hitler’s literal car, then you shouldn’t be running for U.S. Senate.”
