Incumbent Republican Sen. David Perdue is welcoming the idea of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez campaigning for his Democratic opponent in Georgia.
“I’m going to buy her a ticket!” Perdue reportedly said during a campaign stop Monday about the prospect of the liberal firebrand campaigning for his opponent Jon Ossoff. “I want her to come down to Georgia. We’ll have that debate.”
Perdue reaffirmed his position during a Fox News appearance Tuesday.
“She wants the Green New Deal without compromise,” Perdue said, warning about “massive sweeping changes in America” that will come if Democrats take control of the Senate by winning two Senate runoffs in Georgia in January.

“She should bring the whole squad,” National Republican Senatorial Committee press secretary Nathan Brand tweeted in response to the news.

Prominent politicians from both sides of the aisle are expected to descend upon Georgia leading up to the runoff elections, pitting incumbent Republican Sens. Perdue and Kelly Loeffler against Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock, respectively.
“We will have the investment and the resources that have never followed our runoffs in Georgia for Democrats,” former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams said about the January elections. “This is going to be the determining factor of whether we have access to healthcare and access to justice in the United States. Those are two issues that will make certain that people turn out.”
Abrams says her voting rights organization, Fair Fight, raised over $3.5 million in 48 hours earlier this month.
