Comedian and late-night talk show host Bill Maher ripped liberals for their sudden acceptance of Pope Leo XIV after an ongoing feud between the pontiff and President Donald Trump.
“I love hypocritical America,” Maher said on Real Time with Bill Maher on Friday. “Liberals suddenly love the pope.”

Maher said the pope is a guy who “does exorcisms, doesnt believe in gay marriage, no women priests. But now, because he’s feuding with Trump, MSNBC loves this guy.”
Maher said that Leo is so accepted by the Left that he’s getting speeches from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on the Senate floor, and joked that “Eric Swalwell sent him a d*** pic.”
The pope and Trump have been quarreling over the war in Iran.

The pontiff said the United States is an offender of the “demonic cycle of evil” and that God does not bless nations that “drop bombs.”
Trump called the pope “weak on crime” and “terrible for foreign policy.”
