Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is set to testify in front of the Senate appropriations committee on Wednesday morning.
The Cabinet official was summoned by the panel to answer questions about President Donald Trump’s fiscal 2027 budget request.

The budget is extraordinarily high, with about $1.5 trillion dedicated to funding military and defense capabilities. The Commerce Department is allocated about $9.2 billion in discretionary funding through the latest budget request, which needs approval from Congress.
