NRSC refers challenger Dan Sullivan to FEC over campaign ‘scheme’ to oust senator with same name

The National Republican Senatorial Committee has asked the Federal Election Commission to investigate Dan J. Sullivan, a Republican Senate candidate in Alaska who shares the same name as incumbent Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK), alleging that his campaign is a deliberate attempt to mislead voters.

Newcomer Sullivan’s candidacy has injected controversy into one of the Democrats’ top Senate targets of 2026, where former Rep. Mary Peltola is mounting a well-funded challenge against Sen. Sullivan as Democrats look for paths to reclaim the Senate majority.
